Movie Stuff: Michael Fassbender does his Job (and does it well)

What I thought of Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs…

Magneto-perfection

I am a Fassbender fan girl. The man is so talented and he proved it again in Steve Jobs. The movie, directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Aaron Sorkin was not filmed like your usual “cradle to the grave” biopic but instead was centered around 3 major product launches for Steve Jobs and it worked so well. Like I said, the film was written by Sorkin so there was a lot of quick dialogue and a lot of people standing and talking. And walking and talking. And sitting and talking. And shouting. But the dialogue was smart (as Sorkin’s always is), and wasn’t as exhausting to listen to like say, The Social Network was.

And besides Fassbender, Jeff Daniels and Kate Winslet were fantastic. Can we all just take a moment to remember that this is what Jeff Daniels used to be like?:

“Started from the bottom now we here”

There is a particular scene between Daniels (who plays the former CEO of Apple John Sculley) and Fassbender that has Oscar written all over it. And Kate. Lovely Kate, who plays Joanna Hoffman, Jobs’ confidant and marketing director played the role of Steve Jobs’ “rock” so well. She let Fassbender as Jobs shine but didn’t fade into the background.

So Fassbender for Oscars 2016. Could he be nominated twice in the same category? Because Macbeth comes out in U.S. theaters  December 4th 😉
